| I really enjoyed producing this one. I went back to my original roots from back in the days when I toured and was the front man for several "Funk Bands" So, with a nostalgic flair I put several funk band elements in the song. There are some Sly Stone guitar licks, Earth Wind & Fire boards, Fred Wesley/Maceo Parker horn licks and I layered my background vocals with morbid harmonies to give that Parliament/Funkadelic feel. I also added several little funk chants including my impersonation of Bootsie Collins. Topped it off with Maurice white gutteral "yeahs" and a Barkays type of vocal verse. Plus there are other hidden "funk era" goodies in it that most young folks won't recognize. But old farts like me will smile when they hear them. Like we use to say back in the day.......Fire It Up Man! |
